Each year, NACAC honors leaders in adoption and child welfare for their efforts to ensure that children have families and families have the support they need. We are currently accepting nominations for our 2018 awards, which will be presented at the NACAC conference in Saint Paul, Minnesota from August 7–10.
We offer awards in the following categories:
- Advocate of the Year — This award honors individuals who are nationally recognized for efforts to achieve permanence for children in foster care, have worked in the adoption community for many years, and have demonstrated leadership and innovation.
- Parent Group of the Year — The award recognizes a parent group or association for outstanding support of adoptive, foster, or kinship parents.
- Youth Advocate of the Year — This award celebrates exemplary work done by a young person (up to age 25, who was in foster care or who was adopted) on behalf of others who experienced foster care or adoption.
- Champion for Change — The award honors outstanding local efforts to achieve permanence for children in Minnesota’s child welfare system. (This award is a local award based on our conference site. For 2018, that’s Minnesota.)
The deadline for nominations is December 30.
